After a thorough assessment by one of our physiotherapists, you’ll work one-on-one with an Aquatic Therapist or Registered Kinesiologist to achieve your recovery goals in a safe and supportive environment.

Therapy Pool
  • Private, on-site therapy pool heated to 92°F (33°C) for soothing comfort
  • Adjustable current for customizable resistance and conditioning
  • Integrated underwater treadmill for gait training and reduced weight-bearing exercise

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy builds the skills for the job of living and solves problems that interfere with a person’s ability to participate in occupations that are meaningful to them. Psychotherapy

Life can be tough, but remember, so are you. From depression, anxiety, postpartum and parenting issues, or unexpected loss, I can help. These challenges can feel almost impossible to handle, especially on your own. Let me help you navigate these difficulties.

Having transitioned from an Ontario Certified Teacher to Registered Psychotherapist, I have years of experience working with children, adolescents, parents, and individuals as they meet the challenges of life head-on. Using evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I provide a safe, caring, and non-judgmental space.

I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University. Working both in-person and virtually out of Martel + Mitchell Rehabilitation, please call to book your appointment today.

We provide a comprehensive range of custom knee braces, ankle braces, and other orthopedic devices to help you recover from injury and return to your activity of choice.

Knee braces are commonly used to provide stability or to unload arthritic joint surfaces. Your physiotherapist can help you decide which type of brace will best serve your needs.

Custom braces are measured on-site and shipped within 5 days. In some cases a cast of your leg is taken so that the manufacturer can build a mold on which to construct your custom brace. This ensures a custom fit every time. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Concussion and mTBI

Interdisciplinary management using evidenced based protocols for:

  • Return to school
  • Return to work
  • Return to sport

Our concussion and mTBI program provides coordinated, evidence-based care to support safe recovery and prevent long-term complications. Through an interdisciplinary approach—including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and guided rehabilitation—we help clients manage symptoms, restore function, and confidently return to work, school, or sport.

Long Term Disability

Our Long-Term Disability Rehabilitation Program focuses on helping clients regain independence and improve quality of life after serious injury or illness. Through an interdisciplinary approach, our team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, and other health professionals work together to restore function, build strength, and support a safe return to daily activities and work.

We create personalized treatment plans that address physical, functional, and emotional recovery — because long-term healing requires care from every angle.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

At Martel + Mitchell Rehabilitation, our Cardiac Rehab Program is designed to help individuals safely recover and strengthen their cardiovascular health following a cardiac event.

  • Education on heart health, nutrition, and lifestyle management
  • Support from experienced physiotherapists and health professionals
  • Safe, comfortable, and encouraging environment

Ergonomic & Worksite Assessments

Workplace Safety and Posture Correction

Our ergonomic and worksite assessments help identify risk factors in your workplace and provide practical solutions to improve posture, reduce strain, and prevent injury. By optimizing your work environment and movement patterns, we promote comfort, safety, and long-term well-being on the job.

Work Capacity Evaluations

Functional and Cognitive Assessments for Return-to-Work Readiness

Our Work Capacity Evaluations assess an individual’s physical and cognitive abilities to determine readiness for a safe and successful return to work. Through comprehensive testing, we identify strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation goals — helping guide treatment plans and workplace accommodations to support recovery and reintegration.

Seniors Care Programs

Fall Prevention

Falling is a leading cause of hospitalization and loss of independence for seniors. At Martel + Mitchell Rehabilitation we are trained and experienced in the clinical assessment of falls risk and implementing strengthening and balance exercise programs to reduce the risk of falling and injury.

Long-Term Care Services

Since 2007, we have partnered with area long-term care facilities to provide quality physiotherapy services to their residents. As a local business, we are best positioned to provide residents with continuity of care and to communicate with family members. We focus on maintaining each resident’s quality of life and mobility and work diligently with staff on fall prevention programs.

Assistive Devices Program (ADP)

Our therapists are Authorizers under the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s ADP program. This allows eligible clients to receive funding for 75% of the cost of a new walker. (www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/adp)
